Malakoplakia is a chronic granulomatous inflammatory disease of uncertain etiology. The genitourinary tract is the most frequently affected, in 80% of cases it is located in the bladder, followed by the ureter, pelvis and renal parenchyma, although extraurinary locations have been described. Renal malacoplakia is a severe form of malacoplakia, difficult to diagnose clinically, being one of the simulating pathologies of tumor processes, the definitive diagnosis is anatomopathological by the identification of Michaelis-Gutmann bodies.
