Introduction: Efficiency and safety profile of the flexible ureteroscopy has made this a useful multipurpose tool for endoscopic management of a wide variety of urological disorders, in particular urolithiasis.
Aim: Present our inicial experience in flexible ureteroscopy.
Material and methods: Retrospective and analytical study of patients operated from October 2015 to October 2016 whom undergo a ureteroscopy for diagnosis of urolithiasis.
Results: 21 patients were included. Average age of 54 years (range: 34-84 years), 7 women and 14 men, average diameter of litho 10 mm (range: 4-30 mm). The average operating time was 110 minutes (range 45-155 min.) stones free rate in 19 patients (90%), just one patient (4.7%) had fever secondary to urinary tract infection after the procedure.
Conclusions: The flexible ureteroscopy is a suitable method for the treatment of urolithiasis.
