In this edition of the Journal of the Guatemalan Association of Urology, the cases of different pathologies of the specialty are highlighted, which those of us who work in this profession have to face. However, this one, which is the 6th. Edition, presents us on this occasion cases that show the efforts of Urologists in the region to solve pathologies with the technology described for it. The revision of the infectious complications of percutaneous nephrolithotomy, carried out by Dr. Armando Sánchez, seems very important to me, since it is something that those of us who perform this technique are very concerned about. The presentation of such a complex technique, such as the prostatic enucleation presented by Dr. Hugo Arriaga, shows the effort and dedication that he has personally put into it, which makes him one of the first in the region to perform it. . But, in addition, it is gratifying to see how colleagues from El Salvador, Panama, and Honduras present in their respective articles their experience with cutting-edge techniques that always require efforts to develop them in our environment, because, as is usually the case, the that affects our Hospitals and the population always makes it a challenge.
