INTRODUCTION Cystic ureteritis is a rare benign disease affecting the ureter and renal pelvis. It usually appears in middle-aged to elderly women after chronic urolithiasis or recurrent urinary tract infections. CASE REPORT A 54-year-old female patient with a history of recurrent urinary tract infections, renal abscess and lithiasis, resolved 6 months ago. A 9.5 fr Storz semirigid ureteroscope with lumenis fiber holmium laser was used for ablation of cystic ureteritis. Patient with satisfactory evolution to date, with ultrasound follow-up. CONCLUSION The patient under study was resolved by laser ablation, however it should be noted that in severe cases nephroureterectomy or segmental ureterectomy should be considered as definitive resolution.
