Objective: Show the results of the patients operated on at the Zacamil National Hospital for percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in prone position with the one-shot dilation technique in the period between March and November of the year 2021. Material and methods: We retrospectively analyzed 17 patient records, both male and female who underwent the PCNL procedure; 16 patients met the inclusion criteria: prone position, one shot dilation technique, nephrolithiasis greater than 10 mm. One file was excluded due to a positive COVID-19 test report for the second surgical period. Results: A total of 16 patients were evaluated: 7 male (43.8%) and 9 female (56.2%); of which: 4 patients with grade I obesity (25%) and 3 patients with grade III obesity (18.7%). They were classified according to the Guy scale: grade I: 11 patients (68.7%), grade II 3 patients (18.7%) and grade III 2 patients (6.2%). A stone-free rate of 91%, 100%, and 50% was reported, respectively, with an overall rate of 80%. Surgical time of 60.3 minutes (35–100). Radiation time of 4.1 minutes (2.3–7) and a transfusion rate of 6.25%: patient who was re-admitted 6 days after surgery secondary to macroscopic hematuria. Conclusions: We conclude in this series of cases that the PCNL technique in the prone position with one shot dilation is effective for the management of renal lithiasis. It is a safe and cost-effective approach.
