Pediatric Horseshoe Kidney Simple Heminephrectomy.

OBJECTIVE: To present the clinical case of a patient with a horseshoe kidney with hydronephrotic bag who required heminephrectomy in the pediatric urology service of the Social Security
BACKGROUND: Horseshoe kidney is the most common fusion abnormality and can be seen in 1 of each 400-800 births. This embryonic development failure abnormality isn’t by itself an indication for surgery, except obstruction finding.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: We inform of a case, image studios and clinical pictures from a male five year old patient with no relevant background treated in the pediatric urology service from de Guatemalan social security institute.
RESULTS: The patient courses with a satisfactory evolution up to today, with adequate renal function and resolving the recurring urinary infections.
CONCLUSIONS: The simple heminephrectomy probe to be a good therapeutic option for this patient with horseshoe kidney with distal obstruction
